Ken McCarthy - Pianist / Arranger / MD
Ken has been pianist/musical director in West End shows such as Bubbling Brown Sugar, Some Like It Hot,
42nd Street, Joseph And His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Barnum - both at The Palladium.
He has also played and directed cabaret shows in top venues for Frankie Vaughan,
Roy Castle, Vince Hill, Tommy Cooper, Michael Barrymore - eventually becoming pianist with
Dame Vera Lynn during her last few singing years and performing at royal occasions throughout
In another direction, Ken's jazz playing has taken him to international festivals as far afield
as Japan, Germany, Poland and The Netherlands.
Still in the touring vein, Ken has also played his way through many a Force 9 gale on the QE2, Oriana,
Arcadia, and Royal Caribbean line cruises. Another wonderful opportunity to don the white jacket
and conduct the cabaret orchestra from the piano stool. He says "Too many airports also spring to mind!"
Jeff Lardner - Drums
Jeff is one of the UK's busiest drummers and has played, recorded and toured with some of the World's
foremost musicians and singers including Van Morrison, Kylie Minogue, Bette Midler, Tony Hadley,
Gary Wilmot (Showstoppers), Ute Lemper (Life's A Swindle), The Three Degrees, The Drifters, BBC Big Band,
Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Bert Kaempfert Orchestra, Back To Basie, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Charlie Byrd,
Spike Robinson, Don Lusher, Des O'Connor, Vince Hill and Helen Shapiro.
Jeff's television credits include Parkinson, Paul O'Grady, Gloria Hunniford and Strictly Come Dancing.
In the world of theatre, Jeff's West End show credits include Guys And Dolls, BatBoy, Dancing In The Street,
The Drowsy Chaperone, By Jeeves, My One And Only, Umbrellas Of Cherbourg and The Rocky Horror Show.
Phil Berry - Double Bass
Phil is the ultimate perpetual student and teacher of the bass. He studied at The Guildhall School of Music
and has worked around the World in shows, theatre, cabaret and bands covering all genres: West End and Broadway,
Cats, Calamity Jane, Moscow State Circus etc. and with a vast array of major stars including Vince Hill,
Mark Ratray, the Drifters, Omar, The Foundations, Lilly Savage, Susan Maughan, Bob Monkhouse, Barbara Windsor,
Grace Kennedy, Gerard Kenny, Little & Large, Keith Chegwin, Bobby Davro, Joe Longthorne, Gordon Kaye, Lyn Paul,
David Copperfield, Paul Nicholas, The Rat Pack, The Music of the Wonderful West End, Legends of Swing. Add to that
Big Bands such as Joe Loss Orchestra, Ray McVee, Ken Mackintosh.
As with Ken and Jeff, there is just too much to fit in here.
